Spoilers Ahead
The Basics:
Leslie is still trying to get everyone to accept the merger, while Ron spends the day with his newborn son, and Tom gets a great business opportunity.
The Analysis:
I found tonight's episode very funny and one of the better episodes this season. While it still focused on the Eagleton/Pawnee merger, which is getting old, it actually helped the final part of the episode. This episode had everything I wanted. It had more Craig (always a joy), Andy (who's cluelessness brought about some great lines, "I've been stung by a bee before, so I'm immune."), and more Jam (I'm sending this to Tosh!). The two towns finally got to Leslie. An opportunity to run a branch of the National Parks in Chicago actually had her considering it. She still didn't give up on the town she loved, but I have a feeling this want be the last we hear of this job. As for Tom, he pretty much gets an open floor for an investor. Tom is an ever-developing character, who while he seems a bit dumb and superficial, is actually a very savvy business man. His pitch for a restaurant that gets invested in means Tom will have another business excursion. It is nice to see him back to what he does best. Ron's story, while pretty useless, was funny. We saw him spend the day with his newborn son and he basically redecorates an entire floor. Ron's interaction with his son was great. Daddy Swanson was a great thing to see.
The Takeaways:
Tonight was a great episode. Hopefully we see more federal government interest in Leslie Knope. I am also excited to see how Tom's new business goes, and more of Ron and baby Swanson. Also more of Andy, Craig, and Jam is always great.
