SPOILERS AHEAD
Tonight's episode of Parks and Recreation was a game changer. Let me start off by saying this felt like a series finale and if it was one it would have been great. It was only a season finale, though, but it was still great. I loved everything about this episode. The episode starts out with a trip to San Francisco for Leslie, Ben, and Andy, because Leslie is speaking at a National Parks Conference. She is still tackling the decision on whether or not to take the National Park job. A little meeting with Michelle Obama helps her make her decision, though. That was one of the best Amy Poheler/Leslie Knope freak out scenes I have seen. Especially that high-five. Meanwhile Andy and Ben try to get a company to bring free wi-fi to Pawnee. This brought a wonderful cameo by Blake Anderson of Workaholics fame. It also brought a nice call back to Ben'd game, Cones of Dunshire, which he now owns the copyright too. Back in Pawnee, Tom has a disastrous soft opening for his restaurant that of course goes horribly. It brought some funny bits for Ron and some Craig, albeit in a small dose. Leslie has some more brief conflict coming to terms with accepting the job, but after Ben takes Leslie to 'Endor'. And all that was in the first half hour. The second half hour brought us the Unity Concert and Tom's success. The Unity Concert brought quite a few guest appearances by bands and the ever-funny Tammy, the Saperstein family, Jamm, and the reunited Mouserat performing with LandHo and Duke Silver! The second half really showed a lot of the growth of the characters, with Ron finally letting go of the Duke Silver secret, April showing how grown up she is, and Leslie and Ben's relationship. We all knew Leslie wasn't going to move to Chicago, but we also knew she wouldn't turn down that job. So they moved Leslie's branch to the 3rd floor that Ron renovated. It worked, because the writers took the time to lay all the seeds for this. And then that last 3 minutes. That was where this show started a new chapter. Season 7 is looking like the very last season, but if this change breathes new life into the show, it may stick around a bit longer. This was an all time great episode for Parks and Recreation.
