SPOILERS AHEAD
New Girl is really grasping at straws for stories. The last few episodes just haven't had a good story. This week they are continuing the Nick and Jess break up story. Only this time they had them hide it from the group, so as not to ruin the day Winston got in the police academy (which finally something good happened to him!). This episodes saving grace was its humor. Some examples were Coach telling Nick not to show his feelings which led to a cutaway of when Coach did not follow those rules, Schmidt's pregnancy monologue, and Nick on anti-anxiety medication. There are just so many better storylines this show could follow, but the writers seems to be in a rut. There was no point to hide the fact that the couple was done, and there was no reason for Winston to have a 'honey-roast'. I don't have much to say about this episode, mainly because I have said all of it before. The story was bad, but the humor was fantastic. I hope they can dig themselves out of this creativity rut, because I don't like this version of the show.
Highlights:
7 out of 10 Stars (only that high because the humor was that good)
