SPOILERS AHEAD
The Basics:
Barney and Robin start to panic about the wedding. Marshall and Lily renew their vows.
The Analysis:
This was yet another good episode that is rounding out the season. I was surprised they did the wedding this episode. I figured they'd save it for the finale. However, with it out of the way we have a full episode of wedding and reception and potentially future scenes. But onto tonight's episode.
Robin is now in panic mode about her wedding. She wants someone that is willing to go find her locket, and Barney isn't that guy. I felt that even though they already have panicked enough this weekend, that this panic attack was okay for the story. I mean who wouldn't have doubts marrying Barney Stinson? She knows Ted is the one that found the locket and even considers running off with him. That is until he finally tells her no, they aren't right for each other. We have gotten the final conclusion on Ted's love for Robin, and it felt much more final and held much more weight than when they tried it a few weeks ago. Robin eventually panics and runs into the Mother. They finally meet and the Mother gives some fairly helpful advice. Funny seeing the impact she has had on Barney and Robin's lives and that she is basically the reason they are getting married.
As for Barney, he is trying hard to write the perfect vows. With some help from Marshall and Lily, who by the way renew their vows in a sweet sort of wrap-up scene, Barney realizes that their is only one vow for him. Barney runs into Robin and makes the vow of honesty and to never lie to her again. Problems solved and happiness ensues for the two. The wedding was beautiful, but Ted seemed a bit sad in his VO. I hope I'm just reading into this too much, because I will not be happy if the Mother is actually dead.
We have finally arrived at the finale episode. Next week we will find out how Ted's story ends. I hope the producers do the show justice and not kill the Mother off. We will have to wait a week for the last big surprise of the show, though. As for tonight, it was a solid build up for the final episode.
Oh and that final slap was on point and actually well used.
