Spoilers Ahead
The Basics:
The precinct goes to an annual training exercise. Jake wrestles with his feelings towards Santiago. Rosa is upset when Boyle doesn't invite her to his wedding. Holt gets addicted to a game on his phone.
The Analysis:
Boyle goes around the office offering everyone STDs (save the date for his wedding). Only problem is Rosa doesn't get one. Seeing her get back at Boyle was hilarious. I really liked the high-pitched soundwaves being shot at him. We got some development of Rosa's character, which actually showed her upset and actually dealing with that feeling. Then Boyle gives Rosa an STD and they are all cool. Until his fiancee reveals he was the one that didn't want to her invite her. I am intrigued to see where this leads and hope they don't leave this story thread hanging. Meanwhile, Jake struggles for his feelings for Santiago. His feelings get stirred up when an old friend of Santiago is at the event and they start to hit it off. Seeing Jake try to be the man Santiago wants and seeing Boyle give him advice was very nice. I really want this story explored more. And it seemed like they were going for it until Santiago revealed that her and her friend where going on another date and Jake missed his chance. This isn't gonna be the end of it, though. Holt's story was mainly there for humor. His firing back at Peralta's jokes was funny, as was his game addiction. Overall it didn't add much to the story.
The Takeaways:
Peralta and Santiago's relationship keeps growing and I hope they keep on this track. Rosa and Boyle's friendship is also growing, except now there has been another problem thrown into their friendship. Holt should be relied on for more than just humor.
