Spoilers Ahead
The Basics:
Boyle asks Jake to be his best-man. Holt gets Diaz to apologize. Santiago, Gina, and Terry go on a starvation diet.
The Analysis:
I enjoyed this one. Jake got to deal with a lot of Boyle's crazy all at the same time. He had to travel and search for suits, cakes, and stationary. The over-arching story is Boyle potentially moving to Canada, because his bride to be is getting a job there. It was yet again more maturity for Jake. We saw him trying to save his friend from doing something he doesn't want to do and something Jake doesn't want him to do. Jake did his best to be a good friend, but Boyle put him in a bad position. Still it was nice to see Jake try to help. Meanwhile after Diaz belittles another officer, Holt makes her apologize otherwise she will get in trouble. It's weird to think we have gotten this far into the season without much interaction between Holt and Diaz, but this is some of the first interaction we have gotten between the two. It was great. Both of there stoic reactions played well off each other, especially one understanding the others inflection. As for Terry, Gina, and Santiago their story was kinda weak, but we did get a raging Santiago so it was worth it. Her mean side is brutal, but hilarious. Either way it tied in nicely to Boyle's story, with Terry trying to be a good partner to his wife.
The Takeaways:
Obviously Boyle won't be moving to Canada. There should be more interactions between Diaz and Holt. Also they didn't mention it this episode, but I really am curious what they are doing with Jake and Santiago's relationship.
