Spoilers Ahead:
Tonight's episode of Arrow was on of the best ones yet.
The Basics:
Arrow and Black Canary deal with the Clock King. Felicity feels left another. Laurel's issues with Sarah finally comes to a head.
The Analysis :
The Arrow team is on the Clock King's case this week. As you know Felicity is the woman behind the man. So when she starts failing and seeing how awesome Sara is she starts to feel a bit left out and maybe a tad jealous. I loved this. Although I'm not a fan of Olicity, I do love seeing their relationship and Felicity's scenes with Diggle and Ollie were very sweet and well done. Now to the beef of the episode. There is a lot of family issues going on. Det. Lance suggests to Laurel having a dinner in the hopes of him getting back together with Dinah. That idea goes down quickly when Dinah reveals she is seeing another man and Laurel realizes Ollie and Sara are together. This leads to the best scene of the series between Ollie and Laurel. Ollie basically tells Laurel I'm done being your friend because you aren't taking responsibility for yourself. I know I've been a bit hard on Laurel as a character, but this week she really stepped up her game. She wasn't annoying and she wasn't a butthole. Seeing Ollie just say I'm done with you and then walking away with tears in his eyes was just amazing. Stephen Amell has done a grade A job with his acting as Oliver Queen the past couple weeks. Laurel decides to start to get her life back together, and maybe now she is finally on her redemption path. As for Ollie, Thea is starting to sense something is amiss between him and Moira. She tries to get him to talk to her and when he gets back to the house he finds Slade Wilson there. That handshake and the very brief meeting was epic. The tension in the room pops off the screen and I can't wait for whats coming next week.
The Takeaways:
It was a strong episode. Laurel is finally getting her life back together, which is great. Detective Lance, even though he got shutdown by Dinah, seems happy. And next week we will get an epic showdown between Ollie and Slade! One thing is we need more Diggle. He has been pushed to the back burner the past few episodes, and I want him back front and center. Also keep exploring the Sara and Oliver romance.
Highlights:
Laurel and Oliver argument
Laurel on redemption arc, finally!
Slade Freaking Wilson!
