Following last night's announcement during Agents of SHIELD that we would be seeing The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer next week during the show, we have started to see leaks from the trailer and the saw the trailer itself leak. Above is a screencap of Ultron and the Hulkbuster armor from the trailer. It is some great stuff, and the trailer was pretty darn good, too. Stay tuned for more information from this leak.

Tom Hardy is a very popular man in the comic book movie world right now. He is said to currently be courting offers from Marvel to play Doctor Strange and WB/DC to play a role in Suicide Squad. Add Fox to the list, as they are currently chasing him for the title role of Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. We will keep you updated as we find out who he will play. Rumors of Jena Malone appearing in Batman v Superman have been running rampant ever since she was spotted on set. She has been strongly rumored to be playing Carrie Kelley, a version of Robin from the comics. It is now confirmed that she will appear in the film in an unknown capacity. We will keep you updated as we find out more. Yesterday, WB/DC announced a Suicide Squad movie. Quickly following that announcement, The Hollywood Reporter reported that WB/DC was courting Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, Will Smith, and Tom Hardy for the four leads in the film. Not much is known, but Harley Quinn isn't expected to appear. Robbie's name throws a wrench in that rumor, because she seems perfect for Harley. Now let's get back on track. Today, Deadline reported that Smith, Robbie, and Hardy are close to signing onto their prospective roles. It seems a bit quick for it to go from courting to pen-to-paper, but WB/DC could've already been close to signing these three when we first started hearing about the movie. Personally, I would love a team with these 3. What do you think? Guardians of the Galaxy was the surprise hit of the summer. The movie is still going strong, having stayed in the top 10 in the US for a bunch of weeks and just opening to $26 million in China. That opening has pushed it to $705.1 million. The movie currently has $326.7 million in domestically and $387.4 million internationally. The movie is still yet to open in Italy and Switerland, which could push the films numbers even further. As of now, it looks like it could pass The Amazing Spider Man 2 ($707.9 million) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($713.9 million). It is also possible that it could pass X-Men: Days of Future Past ($747.9 million) if it gets a decent boost from the regions that it has yet to open. What do you think of this news? Ant-Man is currently filming in Georgia and we have gotten a couple of peaks at the set. Today we have our first peak at Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and shockingly it looks a lot like Michael Douglas. Not much is known about Ant-Man, but we will keep you updated as more news comes out. The list might be short, but Marvel is going big after the stars. Their shortlist for the Doctor includes Matthew McConaughey, Ethan Hawke, Ewan McGregor, Jared Leto, Oscar Issac, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Ewan McGregor and Jared Leto have been pushing hard for the role, while Ethan Hawke and Jake Gyllenhaal have also expressed interest. McConaughey isn't expected to take the part, due to scheduling, but that is probably for the best. I wouldn't mind McGregor or Leto in the role. Who do you want? Jurassic World is the highly anticipated return to the world of Jurassic Park. Not much is known, but it isn't like there is much to know! It is humans outsmarting dinosaurs. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will star and the movie is out June 12, 2015. Are you excited? It's official. We are getting two Justice League films! Both of them will be directed by Zack Snyder. The cast of Batman vs Superman will return for the film, as will other superheroes. According to BadAssDigest, the villain for the first part will be Braniac and the second part villain will be Darkseid. They will be attracted to Earth from the beacon Superman set off in Man of Steel. Also at the end of the first one, Green Lantern will show up and be the one to inform the team about Darkseid. As for Batman vs Superman, well it sets up Aquaman's debut. He will be pissed after the World Engine destroys part of Atlantis and goes to the surface to confront someone. Also, Zod's body plays an important role in the events of the movie. Sounds pretty awesome. A couple of weeks ago, we started to hear rumblings of a Suicide Squad movie actually being made. In the big Warner Bro phone conference with stockholders, they confirmed that there will actually be a Suicide Squad movie and that David Ayer will indeed direct. Apparently, WB is pursuing 4 A-Listers to play the team, with two of the roles expected to be Amanda Waller and Deadshot. The movie will release August 5, 2016. With Ayer getting some great reviews for Fury already, it seems like this movie has tons of potential. What do you think? The two characters DC fans least expected to get solo films will get some in 2020. Green Lantern will get a reboot, while Ray Fisher will lead a Cyborg solo film. Right now we have no idea what route WB will go with Green Lantern. They could go with Hal Jordan again, or they could go with John Stewart or Guy Gardner. We also don't know how Cyborg will play into the bigger DCCU. It is assumed that he will start his transformation into Cyborg in Batman vs Superman, and he will be the fully-fledged Cyborg in the first Justice League movie. Will you see either of these movies? We have been hearing about Jason Momoa as Aquaman for a while now. In fact, it was confirmed all the way back in July. But now we have official confirmation from WB that Momoa is their man. He will suit up as Aquaman in Batman vs Superman and then again in a solo film in 2018. The solo film will also allegedly feature Black Manta, Orm, Mera, and The Trench. I don't know much about Aquaman, but I know the first three would be expected. I would take this news with a grain of salt, because it comes from what looks like a fan website, rather than a news website. Still are you excited to see Aquaman finally get a fair chance on the big screen? To go along with WB/DC's massive news dump today, we have word on who will be playing The Flash in the DCCU. Sadly, it won't be Grant Gustin. Instead, it will be Ezra Miller. I did a little bit of research and the kid is only 22, so that can be good for locking him up to a long term contract. My problem with him is that he doesn't look the part. He looks like a small gust of wind would knock him down. Warner Bros seems to be looking for quality actors, rather than actors that match the look, so I reckon that is a good thing. The Hollywood Reporter said that the film will center on Barry Allen, but it wasn't clear to me whether they are talking about the movie or the character. Hopefully if the movie version is Barry Allen, Miller will put on some muscle and clean his look up to match Barry better. Even though this casting was met with the usual sigh about WB casting choices, I will continue to have faith until they deliver a crappy product. What do you think of this casting? Just the other day, Marvel threw a punch in DC's direction by announcing that Robert Downey Jr would return to play Tony Stark in Captain America 3, a movie that will launch a Civil War story in the MCU. DC returns that punch today with the announcement of all their upcoming superhero movies. Before I go any further, I have a fundamental problem with the announcement. This shouldn't have been announced in a stockholder phone call. This should have been announced at a Comic-Con or some event like that. This shows that WB/DC only views its fans as moneybags, and doesn't care what they think. Still, it is tough for me not to get excited for this slate of movies:
This is a pretty great slate of movies and somewhere in between these there will be another Batman solo flick and a Superman solo flick. What do you think of all this? In perhaps the biggest Marvel news since the announcement of The Avengers, Marvel is going to make a movie based on the "Civil War" storyline from the comics. For those of you who don't know, Marvel Civil War is between two sides of a registration act that requires superheroes and vigilantes to register their secret identity. Tony Stark leads on side, while Captain America leads the other. The series will start with Captain America 3, which means Tony Stark will also appear in it! This is huge news. Robert Downey Jr and Marvel have apparently negotiated a contract that gives him $40 million, along with some of the box-office cut. This is a big get, especially after RDJ was unsure of his future with Marvel. This move could grow his interest in the movies, and bring him back for more. The rest of this report is info from BadAssDigest with my thoughts mixed in. BAD is reporting that the movie will either be called Civil War or Fallen Son. I wouldn't mind either. They also said that Cap won't appear in the third Avengers movie, because of the events of this movie. Apparently the events of this movie will set-up the 3rd and 4th Avengers movies and open the door for Thanos to attack Earth. Marvel is allegedly looking at this as an Avengers 2.5, and that it will be another ensemble movie. Their report also confirms the rumor of Cap gathering a new team at the end of The Avengers: Age of Ultron. "It could feature Cap's new team from the end of Age of Ultron. Last I heard (and they haven't shot this scene yet, so it could change) that team is Falcon, War Machine, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Black Widow, as well as probably The Vision (although I have been told Black Widow will not be much of a presence in Cap 3)." One of the most interesting bits is that apparently Marvel is eyeing the Russo Brothers to direct the next two Avengers movies, and they lobbied for the role in negotiations to direct this movie. What all this means for the MCU, I don't know. What I do know is that Marvel isn't playing around with their movies. After a couple of duds, Marvel really hit strong this year with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. They are going full force with their movies, and that is nothing but good news for fans. This news could also lead credence to the rumors that Marvel is trying to work out a deal with Sony to feature Spider-Man in the MCU. What do you think of this news? Source: BadAssDigest Justice League is a movie we are all waiting for. We haven't heard much about it, but we know who will be playing Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Recently a rumor came out claiming that Brainiac will be the main villain of a Justice League movie. The rumor came from TheSchmoesKnow podcast and ElMayimbe of LatinoReview. This is by no means an official confirmation, but it is the first rumblings we are hearing from this movie. What do you think of this news? “I’m told the set up is in Batman V Superman. The rumor is that Brainiac is going to be the bad guy in Justice League. And the set up of it is cool: remember how the Kryptonian beacon that Clark set off brought Zod to Earth? Brainiac heard it as well. That’s what I’m hearing… Basically Brainiac is going to be set up somehow at the end of Batman V Superman, from what I’m hearing, and then it goes into Justice League.” From ElMayimbe
Tomorrowland definitely has our interest here. We don't know much about the film, but it will be released May 22, 2015 and is directed by Brad Bird. Check out the trailer below. Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as “Tomorrowland.” Bird has gathered a great team behind the lens with Oscar® winning director of photography Claudio Miranda (“Life of Pi,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”), production designer Scott Chambliss (“Star Trek,” “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “Cowboys & Aliens”), Oscar® nominated costume designer Jeffrey Kurland (“Inception,” “Ocean’s Eleven”) and Academy Award®-winning editor Walter Murch (“The English Patient,” “Cold Mountain”). Jurassic World is a movie that has me a little bit excited and hugely curious. I was never a huge fan of Jurassic Park, but I liked it enough. When Chris Pratt was cast, I was also a little against, if only because I don't want him to be in literally everything. But after seeing the talent behind and in front of the camera, I am excited to see what the next movie will bring us. While there is no trailer yet (but it will be coming soon), we do have a possible first description that sounds like it could be real. What do you think? OPEN: UNIVERSAL and LEGENDARY logo- cut to ferryboat, filled with tourists. The camera pans around to show Isla Nublar. A few scenes pass by, showcasing the arrival to the island. The next scene shows a vehicle passing through large gates, much like the Jurassic Park gates, that read Jurassic World. Queue small montage of scenes showcasing the park, filled with tourists. (Note: at some point during these scenes title cards that read "THE PARK" "IS OPEN" appear)One scene that is described specifically is of a vehicle casually driving through a field, surrounded by bipedal dinosaurs, likely Gallimimus. The next described scene specifically is of two passengers (likely Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins) inside of a 'clear bubble-shaped vehicle" (the Gyrosphere), next to large Sauropods, which are likely Apatosaurs. A few more scenes go by, which lead into a Great White Shark, hung upside-down over water, with visitors onlooking. Suddenly the water explodes, and the huge head of Mosasaur leaps upward, encompassing the shark, and pulling it under, thus soaking the guests watching in awe. We then see a closeup of a mosquito inside of amber, and cut to Bryce Dallas Howard saying a line along the lines of "We have learned more about genetics in the past decade than the past century" and "We are now able to create our own dinosaurs from scratch". We now see Chris Pratt for the first time, walking into a room questioning an apparent situation. We cut to see a huge wall of a paddocks interior, covered in deep scratches. It is then mentioned that the 'creature' is loose, and a line similar to "She is deadly, and she will find us" is said. Cut to a person being dragged through a dark jungle, from a first-person perspective, only showcasing his feet. Next we see someone fall into water, followed by a woman screaming in terror. Cut to title Jurassic World, followed by Chris Pratt saying "If we're gonna do this, we do this my way" pans to a muzzled Velociraptor that he gently pats on the head. It is then followed by a scene of a pack of raptors charging through the jungle. Trailer finishes with a title card: "JUNE 12th, 2015". |
