Just the other day, Marvel threw a punch in DC's direction by announcing that Robert Downey Jr would return to play Tony Stark in Captain America 3, a movie that will launch a Civil War story in the MCU. DC returns that punch today with the announcement of all their upcoming superhero movies. Before I go any further, I have a fundamental problem with the announcement. This shouldn't have been announced in a stockholder phone call. This should have been announced at a Comic-Con or some event like that. This shows that WB/DC only views its fans as moneybags, and doesn't care what they think. Still, it is tough for me not to get excited for this slate of movies:
This is a pretty great slate of movies and somewhere in between these there will be another Batman solo flick and a Superman solo flick. What do you think of all this?
- “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” directed by Zack Snyder (March 25, 2016)
- “Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer (August 5, 2016)
- “Wonder Woman,” starring Gal Gadot (June 23, 2017)
- “Justice League Part One,” directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (November 23, 2017)
