As of late, Robert Downey Jr has strongly been hinting at another Iron Man movie being in the works. This is surprising, considering it seemed like he might be done when his contract is up. Maybe filming the next Avengers movie re-energized him or maybe he just isn't ready to let go of the character. Either way, it is good news for the fans. The rumors got even stronger when he made some comments about it on ellen. "I know there's going to be more Marvel movies, and they have big ideas of how to do it best," the actor said in a mysterious way before adding, "We're in the middle of negotiations, blah blah blah." What these negotiations might be about, I don't know. But Marvel is clearly working on something with RDJ. Are you excited at the prospect of another Iron Man movie, or are you not into it after 2 less-then-stellar outings?

Yesterday, we reported that Sony and Marvel were working on a deal that would bring Spider-Man to the MCU. Today BadassDigest brings the news that Sony is looking to reboot Spider-Man. This reboot would not wipe away the last two Spider-Man films, but would recast Andrew Garfield. It seems like a bit of stretch, considering Garfield still has at least one movie left on his contract. If Sony does goes this route, though, they should just revert the rights back to Marvel, because they just wouldn't understand the problem with the movies. It is not the actor. It is the quality of writing that people really hate. They fix that and people would be willing to look past what some claim is a miscast. Other reports claim that the Venom movie is scrapped completely. I have no clue why, because this is a film that a lot of fans want to see. It could be wildly successful a la Guardians of the Galaxy. They also claim that the Sinister Six film will be in the vein of The Dirty Dozen, with Spidey working with the team to take down a much larger villain. They will put Spidey on the bench for a couple of years, too, before bringing him back for another solo outing. All of these stories could wind up true. All of them might not happen. But one thing is for certain. After the sub-par reception to the last few Spider-Man films, we are guaranteed to see some huge changes. I am not sure what will happen, but I am curious to see how far Sony goes to keep this money machine rolling. It is very clear that they have no clue what to do with Spider-Man and all his properties and that Spider-Man would best be suited to go back to Marvel. What do you think? We usually hear a rumor like this every couple of years, but new reports are surfacing saying that Sony is trying to work out a deal to include Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are multiple reasons to believe it, too. First is the sub-par reception to 'The Amazing Spider-Man' reboot series. Reception has been lukewarm at best. Maybe Sony sees Marvel makes superior movies and would like their help. Involving themselves in the MCU would certainly open the door to many more stories. Second, Marvel owns the merchandising to Spider-Man, so this deal couldn't really hurt them. Third, there were reports that maybe the third Avengers movie won't feature the group we currently know, but they will save that group for an entirely different movie. I stayed away from reporting, because it seemed so outlandish. But it could be that Marvel is pushing to make Civil War into a movie. That could also be the cause behind bullying the new Fantastic Four movie (i.e. they are trying to regain the rights). Spider-Man plays a pretty crucial part in Civil War. If anything, this would be great for the franchises. It would most likely clean up Spider-Man's current reputation and bring both franchises more money. And it would be amazing for the fans, too. The original report is below. What do you think? Would you be for or against this move? "While I can't get the confirmations I need to verify the story, I'm hearing that there are some very cool "Spider-Man" plans being discussed that would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the onscreen Marvel movie universe that would blow fandom's minds. Will it work out? I don't know. I would love to be able to state for sure that it's happening. What seems clear from what I've heard is that Marvel wants to be able to play with all of their characters, and if they can make that work creatively and on a corporate level, they will, and that means the world gets bigger again." After being heavily rumored for Doctor Strange, it seems like Joaquin Phoenix has pulled out his name. This is no shock when you consider that Phoenix doesn't want to be locked into a contract and Marvel is known for locking up their actors. Still, it gives Phoenix a bad reputation as a teaser. He played around the idea of playing Lex Luthor for a long time and he has been considering this since before Comic-Con. There are many other actors that have been rumored or expressed interest, though, so it's no big worry. Among those actors are Tom Hardy, Jared Leto, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Ethan Hawke. I feel we will be hearing about this soon, because the movie will have to start filming in the next couple of months. What do you think of this news? Now You See Me was a surprise hit last summer. So it isn't a shock that the movie got a sequel. Not much is known about the sequel, but it will apparently feature the entire original cast. It will also add Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) to play Michael Caine's son. This is pretty big news. Say what you will about him, but Daniel Radcliffe is a big star and fantastic get for the movie. What do you think of this casting? An extra for Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man has posted a picture of him in what seems to be a security uniform for Hank Pym's company. Instead of being called Pym Particles like in the comics, it will be called Pym Technologies. A simple change no doubt for Marvel. It was likely changed to fit it in with the modern world we live in today. Not much is known about the film right now, which is surprising for a Marvel movie. Will you see Ant-Man? ![]() The next movie in the DC Animated Universe will focus on Aquaman. The trailer looks pretty darn good. My hope is that it doesn't turn into a smash fest like Justice League: War. The film has a brief synopsis. "As Orm and Black Manta make their move against the surface world after the battle with Apokolips forces in Justice League War had deadly consequences for Atlantis, the queen of the lost underwater civilization searches for her other son, Orm's half brother Arthur. Living on the surface world with powers he doesn't understand, Arthur Curry steps into his destiny as Aquaman, teaming with the Justice League to save and unite all people of the world." ![]() Interstellar is Christopher Nolan's next foray into cinema. After a slew of hits, he will bring us another potential hit. As is expected from Christopher Nolan movies, we know next to nothing about it. It will revolve around space and saving the human race. The movie certainly looks good. Will you go see it? |
