Everyone and their mother knows about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Starting in 2008 with 'Iron Man', the MCU (as it is commonly known) works in phases towards team-up films. Along the way, they sprinkle in solo adventures and origin stories. The films are pretty well loved and make tons of money, so it is no surprise when I say that Marvel has made $7 billion at the box office. The most recent film, 'Guardians of the Galaxy', is the top grossing film of this summer. The next film, 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron', could challenge 'Avatar' as the highest-grossing film ever. The series has to beat $7.6 billion to be the highest grossing series, currently held by 'The Harry Potter Series' (which will have a new trilogy coming up soon that could boost its numbers). Congratulations to Marvel.

After years of fans clamoring and itching for a Deadpool movie, it seems like FOX has finally given in. 'Deadpool' will be released February 12th, 2016. The film most likely got greenlit after the overwhelmingly positive response to the test footage that was leaked recently. The film is expected to have Tim Miller aboard as director, while there is no current word on Ryan Reynolds reprising his role (although it is expected considering his love of the role). Miller directed the test footage we all saw, so we shouldn't be concerned. How excited are you?
News on 'The Fantastic Four' reboot has been minimal. No costume, no teaser, not even a poster or title card. Today we actually have some, but it may not be news fans want to here. The reboot will be pushed back from June 19th, 2015 to August 7th, 2015. That isn't too long, enough time for reboots, but it disappointing for the few fans excited for it. What do you think of this news?
'Batman v Superman' is currently filming a lot of action sequences, and that means the Batmobile. Autoblog.com has brought a couple more pictures of the Batmobile in action. What do you think of the new Batmobile? A whole gallery can be found if you click here: BATMOBILE
'Skull Island' is a movie that was just recently announced at San Diego Comic-Con. Not much is currently known about the movie, besides the fact that it will be based on King King. Today we have word that Tom Hiddleston is set to star in it, with Jordan Vogt-Rogers set to direct. The press release is below. What do you think of this news? Legendary announced its plans to make a feature film based on the cinematic origins of King Kong during this year's San Diego Comic Con with an original draft of the script by Max Borenstein. Previous works have touched on the island, but staying on and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions. Universal Pictures will distribute the film on November 4, 2016.
Vogt-Roberts directed and executive produced the Sundance darling THE KINGS OF SUMMER. He has also directed the pilot and multiple episodes of FX's new series "You're the Worst" and is set to direct METAL GEAR SOLID for Sony. His other credits include directing the pilot of "Cocked" for Amazon Studios and directing and executive producing the concert documentary NICK OFFERMAN: AMERICAN HAM. He is represented by UTA, 3 Arts Entertainment and attorneys Alan Wertheimer and Andy Gawker. Hiddleston's credits include MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE, and WAR HORSE. He is also known for portraying Thor's nemesis and brother, Loki, in Marvel's THOR, THOR: THE DARK WORLD, and THE AVENGERS. Upcoming projects include Legendary's gothic horror CRIMSON PEAK from director Guillermo del Toro, Ben Wheatley's adaptation of J.G. Ballard's HIGH-RISE and Marc Abraham's Hank Williams biopic I SAW THE LIGHT. He is repped by William Morris Endeavor, Hamilton Hodell and Authentic Management. Legendary's recent releases include GODZILLA, 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE and the Guillermo del Toro directed PACIFIC RIM as well as the Jackie Robinson biopic 42 and MAN OF STEEL with Warner Bros. In addition to WARCRAFT, highlights from Legendary's upcoming slate include BLACKHAT and CRIMSON PEAK. We are getting closer. Marvel's 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' is set to come out in May next year, and while we are still waiting for the first trailer, we do have a brief synopsis of the movie. We are getting closer to an actual trailer, which is the good news. Bad news? The synopsis confirms what we know about the movie already. How excited are you for 'Age of Ultron'? Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015. When the first trailer for the new Hunger Games movie came out, I wasn't that excited. Then this one dropped. It looks epic. It seems like the director managed to turn a boring book into a captivating movie just based on this trailer. An adventure story and war epic rolled into one looks like a recipe for success. Hopefully the movie succeeds. 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1' comes out November 21st. Zack Synder released a photo of the new Batmobile yesterday, most likely to beat all the set-pics from completely ruining the surprise. The new Batmobile looks pretty freaking awesome. Possibly the best yet. What do you think of the new Batmobile? Is it the best or is it the worst?
Actor James McAvoy is probably best known for his role as Professor X in the new X-Men films. But he has been missing one key aspect. He isn't bald! That seems to be changing in the upcoming 'X-Men: Apocalypse' if we are to believe him. "I'll be older in this one," McAvoy says about his return to Professor X. "And I think I'm finally starting to lose my hair." So it looks like we will get a bald McAvoy in the next X-Men film. What do you think?
It seems like there will be a scene featuring the Batmobile being filmed soon. Those two covered vehicles are very clearly the new Batmobile. The interesting bit is the two Batmobiles. Why are there 2? It will be interesting to see why there are two. There was a recent scene leak saying that the Batmobile will be used at a seaside port and will include lots of stunts. We will keep you posted on this. We have no clue what kinda hairstyle Jesse Eisenberg will be sporting as Lex Luthor in 'Batman v Superman', but we have been getting more hints in the past few weeks. There was a recent set pic leak that seemed to point at Luthor having hair at some point in the movie. This photo posted by a fan seems to point at Eisenberg/Lex being bald at some point. His hair doesn't look natural at all for him. So it is possible that it's a wig. In the leak mentioned above it was also stated that Eisenberg has hair in the film, but it's not bright red. Some conflicting rumors, but we are used to it. What do you think?
The volume of leaks regarding the next entry in the Star Wars series are a bit ridiculous at this point, so take these following leaks with a grains of salt. Some are probably true, while most are probably false. BEWARE OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD. >Leia is made leader of the Republic after her predecessor's death >Han is a retired veteran of the Republic fleet >Luke hasn't been seen in nearly 30 years >the lead character is Han and Leia's daughter >the other lead is the child of Lando, and either a male or female depending on who is cast >the other lead is a Stormtrooper, also either a male or female depending on who is cast >dialogue for these two characters is very rough in the second draft >Luke has no known offspring >The Empire still exists in the form of a number of loyal galaxies and are in a state of cold war with the Republic >The Empire is simply referred to as the "Empire," and the Republic is referred to formally only once, as the "Galactic Republic;" no "New" anywhere >There are no Jedi whatsoever, and people still speak as if they are extinct, with Luke being "the last of his kind" >The main antagonists are an older student of the Emperor, and his apprentice >The apprentice takes control of the power dynamic between the two pretty quickly... >The Republic are excavating ruins on a neutral world for a weapon; the world factors into tense negotiations the Empire have had with the Republic, and is referred to as the "Sith Homeworld" >Loredump: In the script, the Sith are a couple thousand years old, founded by an ancestor of Palpatine called Ruin; the apprentice in this film also goes by that name >the ruins within the Sith Homeworld are a control station; the planet itself is the weapon >Luke saves the day at the end, but in a bad way; he has changed. ComicBookMovie has speculated that Lupita Nyong'o is Lando's daughter and that John Boyega will be the Stormtrooper. They have also speculated that Daisy Ridley will be the daughter of Han and Leia. What do you think of these possible plot points? It would certainly be interesting to see an evil Luke.
Today, The Rock finally put all the rumors to rest. He will be playing Black Adam in the upcoming 'Shazam!' movie. This is definitely something to has the potential to be amazing. 'Jack the Giant Slayer' writer Darren Lemke will write the film and it has been stated that pre-production has just began. Toby Emmerich, president of New Line also had some stuff to say about the film. He said that even though it is a DC comic, it is not a Justice League character or a Marvel comic and that the movie will have a unique tone. He also said that the movie will have some fun and a sense of humor, but will also have real stakes. He also compared the character to the one that that The Rock plays in the Fast and Furious movies. What do you think of this news?
Above is our first unofficial look at Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. These pics seemingly confirm that he will have hair for at least some portion of the movie. Also interesting is the blue pants he is wearing. This is just a pretty cool style choice. What do you think of Eisenberg Luthor so far?
Rumor on the street is that with the additions of Vision, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch, Marvel is starting to think about having Captain America start another Avengers team. This makes sense considering that screen time will be at a premium in the third Avengers movie. The current hang up it seems it that the team at Marvel wants to do Ms. Marvel right and they don't want to just throw her into a cameo scene. That is what it would require to get her into the movie, though. She would briefly appear in a scene with the aforementioned heroes introducing this new squad. Here is what Badass Digest (the source of these rumors) were saying about what Marvel was thinking. This bit is about the introduction of the team. "This isn't a big part of the movie. This new version of The Avengers isn't involved in an action sequence or anything. So changing the characters can be done up until the last minute without hurting the story itself. What this bit accomplishes is basically pointing the way to Phase Three, saying "These characters will be important."
And this part is about Ms. Marel's potential involvement. "There's enough time passed between the end of the action in Age of Ultron and that final scene for Carol Danvers to get powers, a costume and have a career as a hero, but the powers-that-be aren't sure how this will play on film. Will dropping her in just be baffling to audiences?" What do you think of the potential involvement of Ms. Marvel? Since Comic-Con, we have been hearing that Joaquin Phoenix is the man wanted by Marvel to play Doctor Strange. The rumors have died down quickly since then, with other men being rumored for the role. Today, however, we are getting rumors that say Phoenix is about to sign and that they are just figuring out terms that will give him flexibility to make the other films he wants to make. This rumors could be completely false, but it is still something to definitely keep an eye on.
Everyday there is a new rumor regarding Scoot McNairy's role in 'Batman v Superman'. Everyone from The Flash to Metallo has been thrown out. The most recent rumor allegedly comes from an extra on the set of the movie.
The rumors of him playing a character who lost his legs seems to be true. The report is that he will be playing Jimmy Olsen, who lost his legs during the battle in Metropolis, but he doesn't blame Superman. In fact, he is thankful that Superman saved the world. This would definitely be a good way to expand the role of S.T.A.R. Labs in the film universe and also give a potential jump-off point for development of Cyborg. I am not entirely sold on this rumor (although it does seem most likely), because I just don't feel anything I have seen points to Jimmy Olsen. I have rarely seen Olsen where a suit and I don't get why they would cast an older actor in the role of Jimmy. In fact, Olsen is younger then Lex! It will be intriguing to see who he ends up playing. Many of you remember 'Seventh Son' as the movie that was supposed to come out 2 years ago. The movie, based on 'The Last Apprentice' books by Joseph Delaney, revolves around a man learning how to fight the darkest creatures the world has to offer. The movie was hit hard by the divorce of Legendary and Warner Bros. It is now with Universal and will be released on February 6th, 2015. It looks like it got a bit of touch-up work on the logo and actual movie story and aim, but it still looks decent. I am a bit against the movie just sorely based on the fact that I read the books and the movie looks like it has changed the majority of it. Either way, what do you think of this trailer? This is a fad that is wearing out quickly (keep on doing it if you donate, though), but sometimes it is cool just to see what stars do it. Today, Amy Adams and Henry Cavill, otherwise known as Lois Lane and Superman, participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The cool part was that they did it in their respective costumes. And we got a better look at the airbrushed muscles on the suit! A citizen of Detroit (I can't believe there are any either!) recently ran into Gotham City Jail. It isn't much, but it will apparently play some role in the movie. Could that mean an appearance by Com. Gordon? It just might. If the scene makes it into the movie, I would definitely keep my eyes peeled. There could be tons of easter eggs hidden in that building.
