Last night Mike Trout received a humongous extension from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The deal is for 6 years and $144.5 million. The deal buys out his last 3 years of arbitration and adds 3 years past that. This is a good deal for both sides as the Angels really needed to keep Trout and he is still only 22 years old, so they don't have to worry about a steep decline. Trout won't have to worry about his finances anymore either, as he is now set for life. If anything Trout is going to get better. And that is saying something when he is already the best player in baseball. The scary part is he will only be 29 when this contract is up, so imagine what he will get when he hits the market. Overall it is a good deal for both sides.
